need lots of answers-86 iroc

so im new to this site. im a member of z28.com but i figured i could get more answers on here. i have an 86 iroc thats a pretty big project and im planning on getting a motor for it this weekend. just looking for a 350 and its going to be carb'd for now. im going to a junkyard that you can buy the motor and a warraty for about 200 and im not sure what i should get one out of. im looking for a low mileage motor. should i get one out of another camaro, or a chevy van or silverado? would it make a difference??? thanks for the help guys

A Camaro or Firebird would be the only ones with decent heads, but they would be '87-up (no 350's until then) with the different intake manifold bolt angles. Not a big deal, but something to be aware of.

If you are just interested in an engine that runs, or will be rebuilding it including new heads, it doesn't really matter what it comes from. If you are looking for a pavement pounder that doesn't need any more money spent on it, prepare to be disappointed for $200.
