machining engine block

I have a SBC 350 that im rebuilding. I pulled it out of a 79' GMC truck so its a little worn and dirty. I figure i should take it to a machine shop to get the cylinders re-honed. Should i get it resurfaced too? does this make a difference in performance?

Re: machining engine block

What machining needs to be done will depend on what condition the block is in.
