hey, first time on this place as a member, usually only came here to read others ideas. but ive had an 84z28 and now am working on my current 91rs. currently a 305 with a 5-speed. its in the garage now and ive been spending all my free time after work to get it clean and prepped for my tranny rebuild and engine swap. also replaced the fender and redoing much of the previously hackjob wiring today.
list of things to be done within the next two months:
Engine swap
Transmission rebuild + short throw
power sand the whole car down to base with 100 then 400
primer till i can afford a nice coat.
suspension kit
tint
and enjoy
already has
all parts needed to finish
stereo
wheels tires
basics

anyways just curious if anybody has any tricks or suggestions from doin it in the past. for instance if i wanted to run the engine bay as clean as a car from the 60s or 70s. (no ecu) what can i do away with. i have somewhate of a good idea having done this for my 84 but its a bit different. well more so then expected.

well u have to decide what youre gonna keep for the swap, like the fans etc. basically to clean up the engine bay, you take the computer and trace all wiring from it to the engine and remove all that. instead of clipping the wires it would be better to pull them out with the computer. usually you have to pull a fender and do some under dash work but it works out cleaner and you can sell the left over parts to help offset your initial costs.
