TH350 swap kit? (is this the right one)
Hey, A th350 will be going into my 88 firebird, along with a 350. I found this kit on summit that says it has the torque arm relocator, new crossmember, ect.. i was wondering if this was the real deal ( only a hundred bucks!?), or if i needed to check out spohn. thanks

Re: TH350 swap kit? (is this the right one)
All that kit has is a relocation bracket for the tranny mount and a bolt on mount for the factory style torque arm. The TH350 mount sits about 2" forward from where the 700R4 mount is.
Buying a Spohn kit includes a new tubular, adjustable torque arm, a new crossmember with integral driveshaft loop and a torque arm mount on the crossmember to move it off the transmission.
You need a long tailshaft TH350 to use the 700R4's driveshaft. If you have a short tailshaft TH350, you'll need the longer driveshaft from a 82-83 third gen that came with the 200c 3 speed automatic.

I happen to know someone who has a crossmember and driveshaft for the shorter transmission. . .

Re: TH350 swap kit? (is this the right one)
so, even though not the greatest, for now it'll work? (i plan on the aftermarket in the future) I'm actuall replacing the 2.8/t-5. I would do a t-56 swap in the future, but we have the th350 sittin around, and it is better motivation for my grad present due to the fact it's cheaper(not having to drop 1200-1500 for a t-56).
