ok when I got my truck I was told by the guy that the engine was fully rebuilt but not bored and it was full roller ( he showed me the pics of him rebuilding and it is) also he said the heads had been completely reworked and ported but I dont know how much. the intake is edelbrock and so is the carb i think it is a 650cfm. I haven't looked at any of the numbers on the engine but I was told with the dipstick on the right side that it was like a 70s or so. I dont know a lot about chevys i have always been around ford. The guy told me that a local shop estimated the engine was around 400 hp. It can really make a full size chevy truck move along good (ive been over 130 and got there pretty quick). but I was just wondering what you guys think. and im pretty sure I put this in the right place sorry if i didnt. also here is a pic of the engine. also it has full length hooker headers and an accell coil and the plugs go straight in to the heads so I dont know if the are anything special

 

I found this stamped above the oil filter 010020182 some of the 0's could be o's or d's but they all just about looked like 0's to me

 

guessing HP is difficult without knowing the cam, and it's silly anyway. Either the engine runs strongly enough to suit you, or it doesn't. An engine like that is worth about $500. don't pay $1000, you can do better yourself for less money.
