91 rs 305 swap into 89 2.8

Okay i have read the sticky and i have a few questions. Like title says, i have a 91 rs 305 with a rough body and unibody damage. manual, roll up windows. The 89 matches the 91 in options besides the 305. My question is do i need to swap out the dash harness? Are the pins the same when i change out the engine harness? Also i want custom gauges. I noticed that companys makes custom digital gauges and autometer drop ins for the 89 but not the 91. Why? Also with the different engine harness, can i still run custom gauges that fit a 89. Also the motor mounts just need to be moved in order to fit the 305? Bascially im swapping everything that is different from the 91 to the 89.....gas tank, springs, trans, engine harness, rear end..since that seems the easiest. What dont i need to swap?

Re: 91 rs 305 swap into 89 2.8

when I did the 3800 II to 305 swap, I moved all I could from the donor car to mine, just kept everything simple, and working as it should.

guage questions? dunno, maybe manufacter knows. for putting custom guages, I don't see an issue if they all hooked up correctly & correct for application.

although, I've not really looked for yr specific guages.....
