Hypothetical situation, 3.1 V6 auto to Lt1 6spd...
What exactly would this swap entail? I know I'd need a handfull of V8 parts...
1) V8 suspension
2) V8 radiator
3) V8 Fuel pump
what else?
Wouldn't it be a direct bolt in? How difficult is it to mate the body wiring harness with the LT1 harness? What will I run into with the speedometer?
For reference the car is a 91 Firebird.

Not a direct bolt in. Need new engine mounts, first of all. The speedo is no problem being you have a electronic one already that would work like a charm with your current one. As for the harness for the LT1 mating with the V-6, well, you are tossing a lot of the V-6 wiring anyway, but I am not sure how it would work....
Don't quote me on this, but I don't think you need a new fuel pump. The V-6 ones moves enough gas at enough presure (thanks to MPFI) that I think it would work okay with the LT1. Most guys going from V-6 to V-8 go to carb so a new fuel pump is needed for the lower pressure.
For the 6 speed you need a new tranny crossmember. Lots of places sell them. Steve Spohn makes a great one from what I have heard.
Hope this helps a little,
Douglas
