A death of a 305, the birth of a 350.....
Well, the 18 year old 5.0 spun a bearing last Sunday and threw a rod. I wasn't expecitng to get the 350 unitll next summer. I did not have the cash to build the motor I wanted and I need transportation to get me to school and work. I decided on the Goodwrench 350 longblock from Scoggen Dickey for $1289. After I purchased a high volume water pump, a new distributer and fuel pump, the damage came to $1658 (with tax). Not a bad price for a brand new engine (not rebuilt) with a 50,000 mile warenty. It will be going in this weekend and I will let everyone know how it goes. The motor is only rated at 250hp and 304ftlbs. I guess you have to start somewhere. I can't wait to break it in and runn it in the quarter. I guess it will take weeks of putting around to break it in.
