305 to 350 problems.....AAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!

I need some help.... just converted my 305 to a 350 and my 700r4 to a t-5.... I've converted the ecm, knock sensor, injectors, and am running an 8746 computer. My camaro runs a TBI unit and after getting rid of a ton of bugs runs really well once I get going. I am curious if anyones had any problems with the idle after motor swaps.... My maro diesels at idle at best, but for the most part just dies when I come to a stop.... any advice? thanx

the only thing i can think of would be vacume leaks, maybe check around the intake manifold, also the vacume ports at the back of the manifold

also just for ***** and giggles, double check and make sure you are at TDC and airgap the timing through bumping the distributor..sounds retarded but I know alot of people who do work, and get so excited when they are close to being through, that they forget to time it after its been broken in... You have to remember, the New computer had to take time to re-teach itself once it was run for a bit, so therefor your timing could be off a single degree.

thanx fellers. I ordered a new TBI chip for a 350, I'm hoping that will help. I had some leaks in my tbi adapter plate, all fixed. Now a few more miles and I'll get my timing re-checked. Wish me luck, pavement awaits, haha.

I had a throttle body that ended up leaking where the throttle shaft meets the housing. may help to test by spraying some starting fluid around that area (as with any other kind of vacuum leak, you will hear the engine speed pick up)

Did you change to a 350 Spark Control Module?
Disconnect the Ecm Timing control wire to distributor'
(Passenger side by firewall.and set timing at 4 degrees advance/
Unplug Ground cable to battery and let set for about 3-4 minutes.
Connect cable and drive for about thirty miles at normal traffic speed.
good luck...
