I have a 91 RS 305tbi. In a couple months I'm going to be stroking out a 350 i got to a 383 and swapping it out for my tbi. Im just wondering if there are some mods i can go ahead and do now to my 305 and will be able to keep later with the 383. Can I install a shift kit now on my 305 and use it still later when i put in the 383? How about exhaust? If i wanted to put a full new exhaust system on my 305 would i be able to install on the 383 or no? Any other mods i can do now to 305 and still use with the 383?New to this, so info is much appreciated. Thanks

You can put a cat back system on but not a TES or headers. And if you plan on keeping the 700/R4 trans you have now you can put in a shift kit, but when you call summit (or whoever you get it from make sure you tell them what engine you plan on putting in). You can also use an open element system which you can transfer to your new engine. Outside of that i would leave it alone and save your money for the 383. Just my opinion.
