Early model 350 with late model T-5?

I found a really good deal on a short block, and want to replace my 305, with this 355, but it is an early 80's block and I know there is some problems with this working. What are the problems, I've always been told it was the flywheel, but I want to know for sure. BTW this is all going in a 1992 Camaro!

Your '92 crank has a one-piece rear main seal, which has a different mounting for the flywheel than the '86-earlier two-piece seal. The older block will not have provisions for factory-type roller lifters. The dip stick should be on the passenger side, so that shouldn't be a problem. You'll want a damper for a 350.

What problems are you expecting, and what are you planning on bolting on to the 355? Your 305 heads would choke the 355. If you keep your TPI, you'd need '87-later heads for the center bolt angles to match your manifold and to use your center-bolt covers. You'll probably want 22lb injectors. You've already ported the intake and plenum, have an adjustable regulator, and your headers are 1-3/4" primaries, that's all good.
