need help pulling my engine out with the trans still on its a 700r4 and 305. Everything is disconnected all i need to lossen is the motor mounts. Any help will be appreciated.

Go ahead and get your radiator and fan out of the way and start lifting, slowly. Once you have the engine off the motor mounts let the jack down that is holding up your transmission.

 

if you can get your hands on one, get an "engine load leveler". it is the thing that you hook the cherry icker to and then the engine hooks up to it. it has a crank or nut at one end that you turn and basically just changes the angle that the engine/tranny hang. it helped me a TON when i did my swap. i did it mostly without anyone's help. i bought one at pep boys and used it and returned it the next week. hehe. worked like a charm.

2001 camaro SS LS1, T-tops, 6 speed, Hurst shifter, cags!, power everything

I just yanked my motor/tranny Sunday. I did it will a chain fall mounted to a beam on the ceiling though. With the radiator removed there was tons of room to get it out. Once it was in the air, I jsut held the tranny up and pushed the car back out of the way.
