Motor Mounts between v6 & v8?

I know the motor mounts are different on the engines, but are the clamshell rubber mounts the same on the frame?

I think you are talking about the parts that I consider the motor mounts. If it is the part that remains bolted to the crossmember of the car, than they will have to be changed. The metal brackets that bolt directly to the engine block kind of slide down over these mounts when the engine is installed. Anyways, it is kind of tricky to bolt the new motor mounts on since you have to bolt them on from inside the hollow crossmember. It is either four or six bolts per motor mounts with nuts on the inside. Maybe lockwashers too. Hope this helps and hopefully i explained it clearly. Let me know if you need me to try again.

Tom, the only parts that are the same are the bolts that hold the mounts to the frame. Everything else about the mounts are different.

And it is only 3 bolts per mount. I ended up tapeing a nylon wire tie on the threads of the bolts and sticking them up through the crossmember and motor mount from the bottom. Then I held the bolt by the threads and put the washer and nut on the top side.

Thanks five-seven, that's what I was after. I was looking to get those ES poly motor mounts... oh well.
