I am looking for shops to get a high performance short/long block. anyone have any recommendations? like all those ads in CHP for Speed-O-Motive or something like that. any help is greatly appreciated.

depends on how much money you have. i'd look at SDPC or Pace for a gm crate engine.

Go to auto zone, pep boys or western auto (or whatever they are called now) They can get any engine for any car high performance or not long and short blocks. Just for Sh** and grins I asked them if they could order me a shelby corbra 428 and they said they could. It would be a special order but they would have gotten it... Been a bi*** to get the heads for a 428 though. Good luck

i got my crate engine from jim pace performance parts. they are on the web at http://www.paceparts.com. they have pretty good prices too. i ordered it and had it two days later, and they are AWESOME as far as service goes. i would reccomend them without a doubt.

i didn't want to get one from a dealership or something like that. i plan to run quite a bit of NOS through it so unless they have upgrades to forged pistons, rods, and crank, then i'll have to rule them out. goal will be 10's on NOS. any suggestions?
