HAHAHA No more emissions for me....more choices now...please help!!!
Well even though im out here in cali i just got info that i can pass emissions from a freind with a 24 pack of beer...so now my 350 swap choices are expanded. Before i was deciding on staying with the TBI...but now im thinking of going with a ZZ4 and switching to carb since i dont have to worry about emissions. Where can i find info on the ZZ4? Would it be worth it? How much work is it to go from TBI to carb...what kind of problems might i see with this swap? How fast of ET's can i plan on pulling with a new crate ZZ4, 700R4, with minimal mods such as open element and exhaust?
If you go fast like tomorrow to your closest place that sells magazines get the new or maybe not new issue of Camaro Performance. It has a TBI to ZZ4 swap in it. Looks like a nice swap but man the engine looks like it is cramped in there. But if you are doing the ZZ4 swap I would go and get the magazine if not I will just send you an email telling you what they say to do if ya want.

Monkie, Thanks i went down and got the magazine...The kit they show in there looks like exactly what i need, zz4, comes with dual catback flows and everything!!! Totally what I was wanting...however the only problem is that this kit is for LG4 and L69 cars. Mine is a 91 LO3...However does anyone know if it will work if i use this kit and just switch to Carbeurated? Will this kit work on my LO3 if I switch it to carb or are there more differences then that? And what else would i need to do to get it to work? Thanks for all the help guys

In my opinion:
I think your asking for trouble on two fronts:
1) The kit assumes you have a CC carb, distributor, harnesses, and sensors for an LG4 or L69 (like you said, but which you don't have), and gives you a new ECM and PROM to make them work. If you go carb, you are either going to have to a) get all the CC stuff off an older car, or b) go mechanical carb and distributor. If b), then you're going to set off a bunch of problems with TCC lockup and the like. And, either way, you won't have an emissions-passable setup.
2) What are you going to do two years from now when your 24-pack pal is sitting in jail and you need to get your car smogged again?
If you go carbed, you might want to consider just the straight ZZ4 engine which comes with carb intake and mechanical distributor. Add carb, 3-port fuel regulator, headers, high-flow cat & cat back, tranny and suspension upgrades, and you'll have the performance and power of the kit without the expensive parts that you can't use.
Probably better would be the ZZ4 under an upgraded TBI, including BB TB, custom PROM, and the aforementioned exhaust, tranny and suspension upgrades. THAT you could probably get to pass with any inspector. Or, now's the time for that TPI upgrade - I know a guy here who just passed emissions with his '91-style ZZ3 TPI (originally '90 TBI 305 car).

I would have to agree with five7kid.
I remember in high school (years ago)I used to get smogs for $50.00. No car needed. That guy got busted and my car INSTANTLY became a problem to smog.
As a lot of people on this board can show you, you can make lots of power and still be legal.
