TPI setup on a what motor?
TPI setup on a what motor?
Ok, I was looking at the Camaro Performance magazine last night and that ZZ4 converstion really has me wondering if I should do that. But I dont really like the idea of a carbed car because of the sucky mpg. So I was wondering could I put on a TPI setup on it? Thanks!

Of course you can swap on a TPI system. The zz4 doesn't have the EGR passages but that doesn't matter. The manifold bolts right up and I'm sure a lot of people have done the swap. I know you'd need larger injectors and a custom burned chip. It really isn't that hard of a swap, probably one of the easiest. I do know that you'd need a strong trans and new motor mounts obviously. I'm not sure about the radiator though.

Oh I know how to do it. Take a look at this idea and let me know what ya think...T56 tranny, IROC radiator, TPI setup on the ZZ4, custom chip, and a 3.73 POSI rear end. Is this a good idea? And since Im running fuel injection rather than carb would I get more HP and torque? If so how much? The ZZ4 has 355HP and 401 torque. Thanks!

I know from experience that a carb will make the best hp:cost and usually is the easiest to obtain best hp. Torque on the other hand is funny. You want a flat curve and fuel injection, TPI especially, is goot at that. I'd bet you'de be making 345hp and 395 ft/lbs. The 355hp and 401 was with a 750 carb and full length headers. All in all you'd have a great setup and I wish I could afford the zz4. Being a college student I'm looking at the 330hp vortec headed crate 350. It's only 2Gs and the flat tappet cam makes swapping cams a lot cheaper. You should be vary happy with your drive tran setup.
