350 Carb swap questions.

Hi,
I will be swapping a carbed 350 out of a 1974 Chevy pickup into my 89 Formula 350. Will the 1 PC RMS oil pan from the Formula work on the 2 PC RMS block from the 74? What can I do about the air cleaner hot air intake(steel tube that runs from the exhaust manifold to air cleaner).

Thanks,
Ryan

What do you mean? As in, will it fit in the Camaro? Or, can it be removed?

Re: 350 Carb swap questions.

How can I make or install a system? Will I have to get it from an older Camaro/firebird?

You can't use the truck exhaust manifolds. So, you're either going to have to use 3rd gen exhaust manifolds, or aftermarket headers. Which were you planning?

Re: 350 Carb swap questions.

Ya, I am going to use the exhaust manifolds, but since my car is TPI and it will be carb it does not have the little tin pieces mounted to the exhaust manifold. Could I just get these from an older carbed third gen exhaust manifold and mount them on my existing manifold or will I have to get a complete manifold?

Thanks,
Ryan

Re: 350 Carb swap questions.

the easy way for you to get your exaust right would be to buy some headers from summit 99.00 sure is a easy fix then gust take your car to a exsaust shop of your choice they will do the rest for ya it costed me a gran total of 200 bucks headers and all sounds good and done right

I'm running ceramic coated headers. I just stick the tube down by the center two header tubes. You could do similarly for exhaust manifolds.

I'm not sure about transferring the heat stove from a carb manifold. But, the L69 manifolds would be the same as TPI on the driver side and have the heat stove.
