I haven't been able to take a close enough look. From where I stand, it looks as if it's just surface rust on the motor mounts. I'm planning to build a 400sbc somewhere in the 450-500HP/TQ range. Is the fact that there's rust on the mounts going to be a problem? If it is, then I'm going to ditch this car, and get something better, or maybe just replace the mounts when the time comes?

 

i think i'd just replace the mounts if they were rusted too much for me instead of looking for another car. if you're going to have the engine out anyway it'd be an easy job.
