305 to 350 swap

I have an 82 Camaro. I just replaced the old 305 with a 350 that came from a pickup. Now that the 350 is in the car, it looks like I'm going to have clearance problems with the hood. Any information on this would be appreciated.

did you change the motor mounts? That would account for the problem, possibly.

l did the same thing, (305 F-body to 350 truck engine) and there was quite a difference in mounts.

Did you do something different with the intake? Carb? Air cleaner?

Perfect excuse for a cowl induction conversion...

I changed the motor mounts last night and all is well. The motor I bought had the intake and carb already on it. It does look like I am going to have to use the 305 exhaust manifold for now. The 350 exhausts from the bottom of the head and the 305 exhausts from the top. Until I am ready to change the exhaust whole system, I'll have to live with this.

Actually, the ports are located in the same place. I think what you mean is the truck exhaust manifolds go downward from the ports, and the 305 go upwards. Off topic, but I'm glad you figured out your problem. Good call, El!
