Honestly zz4? do i want it?
There are a lot of of topics about the zz4 but i don`t here anybody saying: WOW WHAT A POWER, WHAT AN ENGINE. What i make up in these topics that is recommendable to get a rebuild, tunend 350, is that right i live in Amsterdam so emissions are no problem. Thing is that engines are expensive in this part of the world. It's for a firebird 86 LG4 305 the original engine is ****ed so i need an other and i need a lot of power. I NEED A PORSCHE KILLER so what do i want? please advice. another thing i heard that new buildt GMgoodwrench engines are not that good of quality and a lot of them brake down.

I never heard a bad thing about Goodwrench engines (breaking anyway). I drive on the ZZ4 and it's neck snappin' on a TPI, but tame to drive everyday and get decent gas mileage. It's not the most powerful (HP) motor but you can get away with highway gears and a stock TC. If you want a little more put 1.6 RR in it. Lift numbers are through the roof for such a mild duration cam on a wide LDA.
The ZZ4 is a mild street motor, not a wild WOW! WHAT A MOTOR! type engine. But it is more powerful and more streetable than a lot of other high performance engines. You go to the drags with one in your car and you'll beat a lot of other cars. As far as beating a Porsche... that's not a problem as long as you know which models not to pick on
. Basically, a ZZ4 will make your car respond like a LS-1 Corvette. I had a ZZ4 in my 68 El Camino with a custom built tranny, 2800 stall, and 3.73 gears. It would clean up on most anything from 0-60 mph on the street. After 70 it would noticably lay down and progressively get weaker. I would not attempt to engage in a freeway punch with a Corvette. My suspension is what gave me such an advantage from 0-60 mph.
