ded L03 come with a melonized ditributor gear?
Does the stock L03 305 TBI from 91 have a melonized distributor gear? Yes or No, if no please tell me if it is possible to just buy the part (melonized distributor gear P/N 10456413) and put it on the distrib. Where on the internet are directions to do that because me and my friend have never had to change the gear.

Factory roller lifter cam engine = melonized gear on the distributor.
Even though it doesn't apply, changing the gear is pretty simple. Remove distributor (after putting engine on #1 and marking location); put gear in wood v-block, use drift & hammer to drive out split pin; remove gear from distributor shaft, save shims; install new gear; check clearance b/t gear & housing, remove gear and add/remove shims if incorrect; reinstall distributor; recheck timing.

Thanks, the gear has 145K on it so I think I'm going to just do the change so I don't have to worry about it.

If your running a stock small cap distributer I have a spare distrib gear with about 500 miles on it (I upgraded to MSD and the gears are different) I'll give it to ya for shipping. It's made by Borg Warner and just started getting 'contact' shine.
