Dumb Guy Needs HELP!!!!
Ok, I'm gonna get the 350 HO to replace my 305 TBI. I've noticed a lot of guys doing that recently, I might add, I dunno why...
Anyway, I want to keep the TBI system, cuz i can't convert to carb, and I have to stay emissions legal, which means I have to find an intake manifold with EGR provisions too.
Now, I am getting the GMPP crate 350 deluxe, and it says it comes with a 650 cfm secondary vacuum Holley carb. So what, is this going to make my car a carb or a TBI? I read the whole article and it doesn't say anything about the TBI system.
Thanks

I would think it would make more sense to get the non-deluxe 350 HO, then get a TBI manifold for it (Vortec heads). The deluxe is going to give you things you don't need, and not give you things you do need, for more money than it would take to get the things you need to add to the non-deluxe crate.
If you get a truck Vortec TBI manifold, that will put you part way towards solving your EGR problem.

Yea, I guess you're right. I can reuse some of my stuff. I only need to buy the intake manifold(found a vortec manifold with EGR provisions at paceparts.com!!!)Then I'd just buy a new throttle body instead of a carb, get a harmonic balancer, new distributor, and I'd be sound as a pound, and I'd be ahead a few hundred bucks. I found a shop that'll install my engine for about $700, that's cheap as hell cuz my friend works there. I might be able to get out of this swap only down $3500 total.
Thanks
