67' 350 SS
67' 350 SS
Would a SS350 engine from a 67' camaro fit in a third generation camaro? The exaust could be a problem with the 67' having true dual exaust. Could i put on the headers that are made for the third generation camaros and keep the same exaust setup? Thanks
yes. youll have to use the newer style motor mount on the engine block. depending on your year 3rd gen, the intake manifold may have a different bolt pattern, as well as valve covers(centerbolt or perimeter bolt)
the 3rd gen headers will work also.

If it is a true 350 from a '67 Camaro (the first year for a 350 and only in the Camaro), then the heads (which will be double-hump) will not have bolt holes in the ends. You'll have problems with power steering brackets, air conditioning brackets and other brackets (smog?). Also (and my memory is a little dim here) about 1967 Chevy big and small blocks changed from a steel cannister that held a cartridge oil filter to the modern screw on filter. Could be a header clearance issue if it uses the cannister but you could use an adapter and use a screw on filter. Also, I believe the water pump was a 'short pump' and if so, you'll have to change it and the pulleys associated with it. The engine will bolt into your car but the 'small' things could drive you crazy. I'd help some more but this cold is killing me and I can't wipe my nose quick enough to keep the key-board clean! lol
