2.8 to 4.3 questions

hello fello maro junkies, ive got a few questions about a 4.3 swap. what parts can i use on my on a 4.3 that are off of my 2.8 will i need to get a v8 trany..? and how much would it cost to instal a 4.3? and hook it up.? thanks

The 4.3 V6 is a 90 degree engine just like the small block. The 2.8 is a 60 degree block. I don't think you're going to have much luck with that idea.

I see you found one good job!

I think the aircleaner and the oil pan plug will transfer over. Other than that nothing. Yes you'll need a 4 or V-8 trans. The 4.3 is a 90*, same as the SBC and BBC. The 2.8, 3.1, 3.4 are 60* engines. Different bolt patterns completely.

Remember that you'll need to set the 4.3 mounts 4-3/8" farther back than the V-8 mounts. You might be able to get the V-8 mounts for a S-10 sway and turn them around backwards. That way you can use the standard mounts.
