i can get a brand new 427 Hemmy for around $5000-6000 dollars off my brothers wifes dad...hehe

is it worthwhile/stupid/tight/what the hell are you doing to drop this in my 92 RS?

i know all the extra mods i would have to do, is a 427 worthwhile? or should i just stick with a 383 ?

be a lot of work but it'd be soemthing fun to drive. i tihnk if it were me i'd put my 5000 dollars towards a EFI SBC, plus all the drive train parts you'll need to keep it on the road.

Uhhh, a 'hemi' is usually a 426. MOPAR -usually mid to late 60s and some very early 70s cars (although there were hemis in the 50s). If it is a MOPAR hemi-don't even think about it for your F-Body.

Ford did make a 427 SOHC Hemi in the mid 60s. Don't even think about it for your F-body.

If you mean a 427 Chevy big block, there are a few third gens with big blocks running around.

The word "hemi" refers to the shape of the combustion chamber-hemispherical. (As a side note, it is not unusual to see a "HEMI" badge on mid-80s Chrysler K-Cars. However, that hemi is a 4cylinder but the badges are cool.)

What do you mean! not put a hemi in a third gen!

First you'd need to beef up the structure of the car. GOOD solid sfc and a homemade stb (because i doubt any would fit) You would also need a much smaller brake booster (aftermarket best bet) and a manual steering box will make it easier. Custom headers dumping into an oval exhaust (4" round equivalent) would be sweet. Back it with the TF-727 and dump it into a 9" modified to fit a torque arm setup (which uses an aftermarket torque arm that bolts independent of the tailshaft) or hell, get a 4-link with the dana 60 or 9". Custom driveshaft to fit.

Make sure to install the custom headers and spark plugs before installing the motor, and never plan on changing them again!

Or...... Get the ZZ502!

Dominion heads for the SB Chevy! Then you can say you have a hemi 32valve SB Chevy!

Is this a Chevy 427, or is it a hemi?

If it's a hemi motor, it will have spark plugs that are in the center of the valve covers.

If it's a 427 you can run the stock booster with standard valvecovers.

Manual steering is easier but power will fit too.

Custom headers, Hooker supercomps. They make them for the BBC swap.

4-Link won't fit without back-halving the car. Go wth ladder bars if your changing the rear. The stock suspension will work but isn't as good.

As far as it being worthwhile, I love my 396. I can spank any ***** I want so far and the words out around my neighborhood, nobody wants to play with me anymore.
