will 305 bolt to 2.8 4-speed Transmission
I have a 82 camaro with the 2.8 and 4-speed. I want to put a four barrel 305 out of a firebird formula that had a five speed. The person with the motor still has the five speed bellhousing and clutch assembly but not the transmission. Will this five speed bellhousing bolt to the six cylinder 4-speed transmission? A guy told me that it would if the input shaft on the transmission was the same as the v-8 transmission. Another guy told me it would work as long as I bought a clutch for a 82 v-8 four speed. The 87 clutch would not work for some reason. Does anybody out there have any experience with this?

Won't work. 2.8L is a 60 degree V vs. 90 degree for the 4.3L truck motor and SBC V8's

All of the answers above are refering to the bellhousing. In that situation, they are correct. A 60* V-6 bellhousing bolt pattern (housing to engine) and a 90* pattern are different. If I read correctly you're talking about the trans to housing.
