LT-5 Swap

Has anybody ever done an LT-5 swap into
a third gen?
I was thinking a twin turbo Lt-5 would be neat.

Sure, a TT LT-5 would be sweet, but unless your name is Bill Gates, then forget about it. I recall an article that was written on the LT-5 in a thirdgen swap. They ended up modifying the entire engine bay to make the massive engine shoehorned in. Total bill: approximately $120,000, before buying the engine (good luck finding one). To make a twin turbo LT-5, you'd have to build the entire car around it. Sorry.

I do believe GM or someone at GM put a LT5 in a 3rd gen.. I have seen pictures.. but the above post is right.. costs HELLA CASH!! a twin turbo LT5 would be freakin INSANE though.. I've been in a NA LT5 with 512RWHP!... and it still idles and drives smooth.. that car has 630RWHP now.. and according to a friend NOW it sounds like it has a hot cam.. and idles like a car with a hot cam... if you can get that kind of power.. and retain driveablity WITHOUT forced induction.. i'd assume you could get some 4digit power with forced induction.

Yea, it will fit. I saw the one in the magazine too, and it was in there. Pricey car no doubt.

I had this LT5 swap idea 2 years ago..then i found out how much it would run me, and that GM stopped making the engine altogether. I would really love to see someone post a mag article or pics of the thridgen that has this awesome engine in it...its my dream and envy....too bad i am not a millionaire..otherwise, that fbody would be mine!
