Is a 383 TPI a good idea?

I would like to get a 383 built this summer for my car. I'd like to put the TPI on it rather than going carb. Now my question is this going to be a costly hassle, or a fairly easy thing? I definitly want to keep the TPI, and can't really afford any after market plenum. I will change the runners, injectors, and fuel pres. reg. Is a 383 a bad idea for the TPI, do you think I'd be beter off going with a 350 TPI motor and then just build that up? Let me here what you all think?

If you want to keep it TPI you will have to go with aftermarket parts. The stock system will definately keep your 383 from reaching its potential.

Another way of doing it would be do away with TPI and go with a carb. Fuel injection aftermarket parts are expensive. You can achieve great perfromance with your 383 with a carburated setup. I have a carb on my 86 Z and I love it!

Will install 3.73's later on and might go with a more aggresive cam.As of 4/01 added Hooker Headers,2.5inchpipes with 40 s. Flowmasters.Ignition upgrade include: MSD Coil and MSD module.
