After Swap A/C
After Swap A/C
After swapping a 4 or 6 cylinder for a V8, what was needed to get your a/c working again? I just finished swapping to a V8 from a 3.1. I have reconnected all the a/c lines, but am sure that I may have to change some of the wiring to get my a/c to work.
Thanks for any input...

What did you do for/to the engine harness? The same controls work for the A/C whether V6 or V8. The only rewiring I had to do was to change the electrical switch on the heater control and the harness through the firewall because it has a line to the electric radiator fan, which the V6 didn't have. I put the complete V8 harness in, so that simplified it for me. But, the wires themselves were the same.

I used a carbed motor to replace the 6, so I did not add the V8 harness. I am sure that there are some connectors that will prevent the a.c. from working. The more I study the shop manual the more I feel I will have to trick the ECM. I may have to do things, like ground out the coolant sensor connection, since I no longer have one...
