Doing a V6 to LG4 305 swap, have some parts questions
Hey folks....
I need to know what the origonal computer controlled distributor part# is...
Im gonna use the electric fuel pump thats in the car already and regulate it down with an AFPR, what psi does it need to be for the Q-jet, and how do I change the fuel line fittings from the MPFI V6 screw on ends to connect it to the carb....
Im gonna use the computer, so do I have to use O2 sensors, or is there a way around that, and Im also getting rid of the cats and not using AIR injection, any problems? What do I do to fix these issues?.....
I think that covers everything, all I need now is gaskets to re-assemble the motor, an AFPR, and a V8 bellhousing for the T5 (Ive already heard the discussion about using a V6 T5 on a V8, dont go there).
Thanks
Mike D.

I'm not sure about the #, but all I did when I needed this was to go into the salvage yard and pull one from another sbc. It's got a 4 wire connector and the usual tach wire & stuff.
I've never done more with a V6 than changing the plugs and it's been awhile so I can't remember the fuel line layout, but the fuel pressure needs to be around 6-7psi for the carb.
Your computer needs that O2 sensor to function properly. Without it, the computer will do almost nothing and the carb will run full rich and stay in "warmup" mode, etc etc and throw codes like darts.
The computer won't care if the AIR stuff isn't hooked up, those two plugs for the diverter and solenoid are only output/control voltages, not referenced back to the ECM. Gutted cat will work fine, or a bypass pipe of some sort.
Hope it turns out well for you!!
