how important is the egr?
a girlfriend of mine has a 94 camaro and a shop told her she has to get this replaced.. she went there cuz her car was running a little bad..

It's smart to have it replaced. It recirculates some of the exhaust gases into the intake manifold so that GM could get a lower emissions reading. It does help smooth out the engine and if she doesn't replace it then her gas milage will go down a tad. With the prices of gas today, and in the future, she won't like that. But truth be known, you don't "need" it.
