very serious question need answered fast!!!!!

ok heres the situation. i bought an 82 trans am about a month er so ago an the 305 has blown up.so my buddy that i work with is gonna give me a 454bb chevy that needs a head gasket {otherwise runs perfect] my question is,how hard would it be to put a bb chevy in a third gen? would stock exhaust manifolds work? or how about the hooker engine swap headerS? how about engine mounts? wood thay have to b moved?also im going to end up putting a 700 r4 behind it {dont laff} i need to get this car on the road so i can get started on the 87 t top car i just bought,as i sold my 89 with the 406 pontiac in it.btw im going to have a crap load of interior an body parts ill prolly end up with a complete rolling chassis left over if you need any parts let me kno il let stuff go CHEAP!! just to get rid of it but try an help me with my question plz ...thanx mark

Well,you got your work cut out for you.You will have to change the oil pan,or cut on the a frame for oil pan clearance,change front suspension the stock will be to light weight for the BB.I don't know for sure but you may even have to cut the firewall,I mean my 350 is pretty tight already and not much space for fan and water pump.I can imagine a 454 and yes you will engine swap hedders I think I could stand corrected.Ive gone SB to BB and is a headache but if you get it done you got yourself one bad SOB.Good Luck

NOT!

If you've done a 406 poncho into and 89 the 454 will be about the same except you can get the parts easier. Don't use the hookers, use the sandersons. They're about $100 cheaper and won't require a 4lb sledgehammer to get them to fit. CrazyRob75 used the stock manifolds and I use the hookers last time. This time I'm going to get the sandersons. You can use stock truck exhaust manifolds but, the power increase won't be the same. The engine mounts will be fine, you can even use the stock 305 pieces on the frame side (I did, they sit lower to the frame).
