I plan on swapping out my TPI 305 with a 383 stroker with a 4 bbl carb, l have no problems with emissions, and l plan on completely eliminating the computer. will the transmission be able to operate without an ECM? can anyone give me any details at all?

it'll operate, it just won't lockup. you can get a kit for the transmission to regain your lockup without the computer for about $70. usually it wires just to the brake switch and manifold vacuum so it can unlock if you hit the brake or go WOT.
