305 TPI into a Chevy Astro? Will it work?
I am considering squeezing a 305 TPI engine into a Chevy Astro. My main concern is the VATS anti-theft system. I have done some research and found out that the computer is dead and engine won't start if there isn't the resistor in the ignition key. It has to bypassed somehow. Has anyone ever thrown a TPI engine into another vehicle? I know Chevy engines pretty well, but I'm kind of scared here. (P.S.- the reason for my madness is a love for Chevy power and my love for my wife and 6 kids.)
I dont know if a TPI will work i know of this guy where im getting my motor done installing a 305 carbed motor with a t-5 in his early astro van. The thing is he's doing it all himself and hes a cab driver. The shop lends him the lift for occasional use.

Treat it just like a S-10 V-8 swap and you won't have any suprises. Most of the swap parts were designed for the S-10's and jags that run has some information on their page for this swap. I just can't stand JTR, so I buy my parts from advanced adapters. www.advanceadapters.com
