Putting in an old engine

Can I put a 60s engine in my '89 Iroc reusing the 89 parts? I also have a set of '82 heads I would like to use but will they work with the reverse flow cooling of the serpentine? I just want to change the block and internal components and I want to know if it will work okay.

Car: 82 Berlinetta/57 Bel Air
Engine: L92/LQ4 (both w/4" stroke)
Transmission: 4L80E/4L80E
Axle/Gears: 12B-3.73/9"-3.89
The issues I see are:
1) Driver's side dipstick on the 60's engine won't fit stock manifolds.
2) Center two intake bolts to each head are a different angle on your '89 manifold than '86-prior heads.
3) '85-prior engines use one-piece rear main seal, which will require a different flexplate/flywheel than your '89.
4) Using '82 heads doesn't make any sense.

The serpentine direction is limited to the type of water pump - it's the direction the pump turns that is different, not the direction of the coolant flow. Putting your '89 piece (or suitable replacement) won't make any difference to the rest of the engine. It's the LT1's that reverse the flow direction of the coolant.

Exactly what engine do you have now, and what is this 60's engine? That info required before any further advice could be offered.

Sorry about that I should have mentioned what I have:
Currently in the car: 305 TBI
in the garage: '64 327

the reason I want to use the '82 heads is because the TBI heads are swirl port heads which are crap for flow.
