350 no anti-theft to 305 anti-theft motor swap
swap to 305 w/anti-theft from 350 w/o anti-theft. The car spit and sputter w/o V.A.T.S. hooked up, W/V.A.T.S. hooked up it just crank over ( no hits) We are using the 350 wiring and 305 ECM. What promblems are we looking at and what to fix the problem?
The motor does not run at any stage. The term of spit and sputter may have miss lead you. I should have use hit and miss. One posting I have just read states the V.A.T.S. system controls two things the start and injector pulse.
When the VATS doesn't see what it needs you get nothing... you turn the key and you may get a click but thats it... If you know someone with a VATS car that works right, look under the dash, there's a large orange wire with a quick disconnect in the middle... unplug it and try starting the car.
