I currently have a 89 305 tbi auto. The car is really straight, but like most 305's especially auto its not all that much fun to drive.

I would like to know what I can drop into it with minimal effort. I have been told that almost any 350 tbi would work without screwing up the computer, and the existing harnesses for the most part will hook up. Is this true?

What other options (Drivetrain Swaps) do I have to make my car a little more fun to drive but still a daily driver which doesnt cost me like 70 bucks a week in gas.

 

man im going with the 350 in my 91 firebird 305 tbi. so far everything seems to be going ok, but i havent got the 350 in my car yet (in the machine shop as we speek) As far as i can tell it should be an easy swap everythings a direct bolt up. I do know that you will have to change the knocksensor to a 350. computer should work just fine with just a 350 chip.only thing I am questioning is the factory tb. (Know one seems to want to lend any good advice)
