305TBI to 350TBI
305TBI to 350TBI
Currently preparing to put a 350tbi in my originally 305 tbi bird, what mods are gonna be necessary to make the swap work. I know I will probably need to change the knock sensor, what about chip, will factory tbi be enough? etc. thanks for any help.

How strong of a 350 are you putting in there? A mild 350 will work with the stock computer and tbi just fine (will have to increase fuel pressure slightly). If you go over the 300hp mark you will need the 454 throttle body to give you enough air to get max hp. Otherwise its just like having a 2bbl carb on a 4bbl car. It will run fine just not make as much horsepower as it could. Same with the chip. It will run just not as well as it could. You will need an adjustable fuel pressure regulator and either a laptop or a fuel mixture guage to tune the fuel mixture. If going over 250hp a high performance fuel pump is a must. Also chunk the entire exhaust it is not suitable for a 4cyl much less a 350.
