What do I need to get it done right?
Right now I have a 91 Camaro RS with 305 and 5 speed. I want to put in an L98 from an 88-92 Camaro and also put in a 6 speed trans from a 4th gen Z-28. Does anyone know if the trans and engine will hook up together ok. Also I know this has been asked before but what exactley do I need to pull from the donor car when I pull the 350 and what should I look for. Please be as specific and detailed as you can(any ideas what it would cost for a good 350) stuff like that. I am having a shop put in the engine and trans for me and I don't want them calling me to say they need something. Thanks all
the ZF6 is phyiscly bigger and heavier and its harder to install. It also uses a heavy dual mass flywheel. A T56 6-speed from a '93-'97 4thgen will bolt right up to a '86+ 1-piece rear main seal chevy v8.

IF you can get your hands on a t56 why not get the 4th gen engine to go with it as opposed to putting an L98 with it. I mean if you think about it if you are going to spend the money why not get the best. IMO the ls1 is a better motor because it is so much newer. I would like to do that but don't have the money, I would like to do a lot of things but don't have the money. If he can afford a t56 I think he should go with the ls1 or lt1, once again IMO.
I would love an LT1 or LS1 but I have been told they are extremley hard to put in something about reverse flow coolant or something like that. Also since I am going from TBI to TPI it is already going to be a PITA. I have enough money for a T56 and an L98. Will someone answer my other question? what do I need to pick up from the donor car when I pull the L98. thanks.
LT1 is easy, LS1 is still largely unknown swapping territory. The LS1's T56 and the LT1's T56 are physicly different from each other so make up your mind before you start buying stuff. Get everything you can from the L98 or LT1 car, the computer and the whole wiring harness and all the emissions stuff.
