Big Block?
Big Block?
I'm interested in putting a Big Block in my 83 T/A. I would like any imput I can get. Has there been any recient articles or resources I can read? What sort of modifications to the body or subframe am I looking at? Is there any real danger of twisting the T-tops right out of the car? I have a 4 something or another out of an old cadilac (465 I think) and I am considering dropping that in my car since the factory 305 cross fire has nearly a quarter million miles on it, and it is starting to run rough. Any comments will be of help to me. Thank you.

Your choices for a "four something" caddilac engine are 472 or a 425. Good truck engines but too much work to go into a thirdgen if you ask me. If you absolutly want a big block stick wth a BBC. The other thing your going to need to know about this swap is that big block swaps cost big block $'s. Not the cheapest of swaps.
Other than that, do exactly as Spud said, check the archives. Everything you want to know is there.

As nice as a Caddy engine sounds, it will cost you more to put it into a third gen than a reasonable BBC.
I have sub frame connectors and a 6 point roll bar in my T-top car and haven't lost a T-top yet from flexing.
