LG4 to non emission 350, what to do???
i don't have emissions so i want to just to get rid of this 305 and go to a non cc, non emission 350. What would i need to do? also is there anybody that sells a good rebuilt 350? Thanks for your guys' help.
man if I had no emissions I'd do a 455 Pontiac with edelbrock heads or something crazy.

oh i'd love that but my suspension wouldn't be able to handle that either would my wallet i don't have the money to spend. i'm sure with a bigblock i'd need to play with the rear end and suspension just with all that weight and power. Just a guess never considered the bigblock option, i just want an engine for about 2000 i was lookin on allchevyengines.com and they had a 350/325 hp engine for 2000 with forged pistons, definately something i'd be interested in.

You're on the right track for an engine. Also check PAW. It seems there is an outfit local to you (Vegas Machine, or something like that?) that does business nationally.
For non-CC, you'll need a carb, distributor, and if auto, some means of locking up the torque convertor clutch.
What induction system do you have now? For pocketbook impact, I'd think you'd be better off keeping what you've got (with perhaps selected upgrades like intake manifold if carb or TBI) and spending money on the exhaust instead.

If you want to save money, get the Edelbrock Performer or Weiand Action+ in an EGR version and stick with the CC carb & distributor. Spend your money on exhaust, where it will make a real difference. Buying a non-CC carb and distributor would make zero performance impact, and will make a further impact on your wallet with reduced mileage.
Read the articles by Steve Green on the Magazine Articles board ("Stroke in the Desert" or something like that). He kept the CC carb on a 383 (although he had his rebuilt and re-chipped by Jet), and was quite happy with it. The fact that it's emissions-compatible doesn't detract from its performance potential, especially for a daily driver.

You'll spend as much or more money buying a new Holley and everything else to make it work than you would getting your CC carb rebuilt. Depending upon the exact vintage carb you have, it may need modification to get its full flow, but that's easy to do and basically no-cost, and it will out flow a Holley 750.
For a street car, keep the CC carb. I don't know of any way to say it more plainly. Spend your money where it will make a difference.

Thanks five7, i guess i'll stick with the CC setup thanks for your advice the money i saved from that i'll put in a good set of headers and put in a 3.73 posi to put all that power to the ground. Thanks again
