Basic price question...

i've got a '91 3.1, and i've finally finished all of my exterior work, so that my car is perfect (as far as i'm concerned, lol). now i'm looking to put my money into a v8 swap. i'll probably end up getting a used engine from a junk yard. maybe even third gen resource, since i live near them. i'd like to get a 350 TPI, and i know prices can vary depending on mileage, but say i get one for around 750, what do you think the price tag would come to with everything else i would need to get for it, and installation, since i don't have the tools or experience to do it myself. sorry for such a broad question, but i don't know where to begin with a v8 swap, so any help at all is always appreciated.

Hi RealDeal,

Just recently I replied to a guy who is doing a 305 TBI swap to a 350 TPI. There is some good information, some of which should apply to you (like the cost of the swap). I'm presently converting from 305 TBI to 350 TPI.

Here is the link to that thread:

That should kind of give you an idea of some things, and if you have other questions, just ask. If I know the answer I'll help, if not, someone will.

By the way, good luck on the swap!

I miss seeing the sun shine down on the black #3 car.

I'm old enough to know better, but still too young to care!--Wade Hayes

Oh yeah, if you get a 350 TPI that is Mass Air, but want to convert it to Speed Density, let me know, I have a part list and price list for that. But you can always keep it Mass Air, or just by a Speed Density 350 in the first place.

Good luck.
