supercharged 305 vs. 350...?
Hey all. Ok, here's my deal- I recently picked up a '93 305 that I'm in the process of rebuilding. I had originally planned on going with a supercharged tpi setup, but the more I looked into it, it seemed to get almost ridiculously expensive real quick- ($2k supercharger + $? install kit + $etc, $etc...). As far as cost to performance, I'm told the sc will only add 35-50% hp so would I be better off just trying to find a 350 to build up a little & stay away from the supercharger thing altogether? Like I said, I'm about halfway thru the 305 rebuild & would hate to ditch on the project now, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do i guess... Any advice? Thanx
A 350 is a cheaper way to go but a blown 305 will still outrun it. Plus you can reuse the blower setup after you get tired of the 305 and drop a 350 in there anyway.
Just beware of forced induction: it's ADDICTIVE. Once you go blower you never go back.

u can stay with the blower on the 305 if ur rebuilding i suggest u go with a compression of 8:5:1 and get an ATI procharger kit pumping 12psi, i believe it will run u at $2,700, not only will u be destroying 350's out there bull ull be saving more gas either, with the ATI blower u dont need a chip or any timing changing, the ATI blower is equipped with a 3flow intercooler which beats what vortech or paxton has to offer. hope this helps
