2-bolt LT-1

I am really new to engine swapping. I can modify pretty much any car under the sun but just jumped into my first engine swap. I had a 305 in my 83 Z28 but it was sold without my permission. I now have no wiring or anything. I want to carbuerate my LT-1. Now as far as a trans and drive shaft go can I use my 700r4 and original drive shaft?? And as for the distributer set up goes can I use a HEI or does it have to be opti spark??? Also does anyone know where I can get a good intake for an LT-1. The LT-1 is from 92. I will be asking a lot of questions as I go along so be prepared to see my name pop up a lot.

Thanx

Jim

If you are able to find a intake manifold and if you are really good with electrical system for spark distribution you may be able to make it work, it looks like a electrical nightware for me .... LT1 use an intake manifold with no coolant passage. you would probably have to redrill holes in the new intake(if you find one) to match the one on the LT1. However Hot Rod magazine did it. if I where you, I would buy a painless wiring, a new 93 computer with no VATS and your swap would be fairly easy. wiring harness is 350$ from jegs. check EBAY for computers.

good luck with your project, if you really want it carbed, you'll find something somewhere.

First of all, why would you ever want to carburate an LT1? Second of all, why would you want to put an HEI in place of an Optispark? Just curious.

that is going to be a nightmare for you, when all you are doing is using the lt1 specific heads and cam and a 350 black without carb capabilities. Just find a 350 block and throw on some good heads and cam and then carburate it. It will be much simpler.
