I have recently been looking into buying a new crate engine for my 87 FIREBIRD FORMULA.Maybe a high performance 305 or 350. The problem is finding a good business that has quality performance engines and crate motors for a reasonable price. I know one guy had mentioned golensengineservice.com and they have good prices but are they qaulity built? If anyone can mention a business that has and does quality crate engines for a reasonable price, that would be great.

Try looking at http://www.amerspeed.com/ at what they offer. I'm personally going to go with world castings, www.theengineshop.com. They are expensive but are dyno tested and have a 2 yr warranty and are 450hp and up engines.

I purchased a 350 targetmaster competition engine from ATK. It was a long block and ran me like $2200 beans w/ shipping. I looked around for months before deciding on this engine. It was the only comp engine i could find with a 5 year 50,000 mile warranty with it. Although they would not give me my money back for the core charge because they said they had no use in taking a 305 back.. I did sell the 305 for $200 getting almost all of the core charge back.
