Nevermind, i forgot that i needed a 1 peice rear main seal.

I didn't see your original question, but be forewarned - not all 1-piece rear main blocks are set up for a roller cam. My '86, for instance, has a 1-piece rear main and absolutely no provisions for a roller lifter cam. Same occured in later years for truck 350s (some had casting provisions but machining not done).

Right: 86 blocks are not setup for an OEM roller cam.

87 up truck (and some passenger) blocks that aren't originally made roller only need the 3 nipples in the valley tapped for the spider retainer bolts, and whatever timing set mods... The block's valley is already setup for the anti lifter spin retainers by a flat surface.

PS...If you already have an 86-older motor, just go aftermarket roller IMO...

Isn't it expensive to get a roller cam for a non roller engine? ... is the cam selection any good for that.

I found a block from a 90 caprice.. are these 1 piece w/ a roller? The guy couldn't be bothered to get the casting number for me.

90 Caprice is suppose to be a roller motor. Will definitely have provisions for it.
