Will a 350 engine/tranny work out of a 1978 Chevy truck? How about the engine? If not, let me know. I hope that is workable. If not, let me know. I am hoping for a yes. I know the tranny will most likely not work seeing as how trucks are not geared for that sort of driving, but just let me know. The sooner, the better.

Oh, one other thing? How much work to drop in a Buick 455?

it will work with a little bit of work, but i would forsure go with the buick 455, that thing will out power the 350 hands down, not too much of a pain to put in eather

 

I can either get the 350, a 400, or 455. But I don't want to have to pay that much for gas. I don't have much money for this stuff.

 

if you dont want to pay for gas, why are you even swapping in a bigger engine in the first place?

 

the 400 is sounding nice, i dont know gas is pretty cheap now a days.
