I have a 383 stroker in my trans am. it was in the car when i traded for it. it only has around 1k miles give or take a few. I cant get this thing to run right to save my life. My vacuum guage always shows low vacuum no matter what i try. Ive tried carb cleaner and starting fluid all over the intake and carb and nothing. Ive adjusted valves, im getting milky oil. I hate this car with a passion. Well actually just the engine. Ive worked with engines for a long time and never had these many problems. I hate to give up but i think im going to have to.

The engine has around 7k of mods alone, but im seriously ready to trade someone for another engine that will bolt up to my t56. I know an lt1 will and maybe a bbc 454 will. Im wanting a fuel injection engine. Anyway a guy has an lt4 he will trade but im really looking for a stock engine to trade for so when it has prooblems, it wont be from some other guys mistake in the engine. Anyway, would you give up and trade for an lt1? I really need some hlep.. please answer

Do you think a 7k 383 stroker is supposed to run smoothly and pull vacuum?

 

im pretty sure it should pull more than 5 vaccum and not idle at 1500 rpm no matter where the idle screws are genius
