Fuel pump question please help
I have swapped my 305 to a 385 fastburn crate engine just recently. My car is now carburated. I took out the original fuel pump and mounted a holley blue pump under my tank behind my rear torsion bar. I have an inline fuel pressure regulator on the car to make sure it is giving the proper pressure. All this was done 6 months ago. yesterday the pump died. I checked if there was power and there was. I checked the ground and took off a fuel line and it was obvious that it wasnt priming the fuel when i turned the key. So my question is. why would this pump died so quick. I mounted it right side up. I have the stock sock filter in the tank still connected so I dont think it would be from trash. I made a heat shield to go over it so no exhaust heat should faze it. What do you guys think. The warranty on Holley stuff is a joke. So idk if it is worth it to try to get another and have it die in 6 months or get a mechanical pump or what. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.
