TPI power
TPI power
was wondering how much horsepower the tpi type intake systems will sustain? I have a 383 small block about 450 hp and was wanting to put it into a 89 formula. would i be better off staying carbeurated?

Re: TPI power
TPI intake is built for tq. It will lose breath after 4200-4500rpm on a 383. Best bet is to get an aftermarket intake or stay carb

Re: TPI power
get the holley stealth ram intake. well worth the cash for the swap.!
you will get more power of it then a carb and still have decent fuel mpg

markzles, welcome aboard thirdgen.org.
I don't know about the "more power than carb" part, but the HSR is a good way to go when keeping TPI on a larger than stock engine.
